Vineyards

The following grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernert Franc, Petit  Verdot, Rondo, Carmenere, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Vionie, Aligote, Trebbiano, Traminer and Muskat Canelli have been planted and certified in the own vineyards of "Chateau de Val"; We have also planted representatives of almost all Bulgarian and Eastern Europe grape varieties: Gamza, Pamid, Misket, Bouquet, Storgozia, Smederevka, Rkatsiteli, Saperavi, Furmint. "Chateau de Val" possesses 350 decares of two vineyards estates.; In the vine growing we use mainly two systems of pruning and trainig - double Guyot system and crochet. Because of the unique terroir we have based the grafted grape vines on rootstocks such as: SO4, Kober B55, 41B having in mind that our soil types are mainly: kalker on clay soil, mixed with mussels, sand and clay. - The vineyard is 125 m above sea level. The climate is moderate-continental with Danube river's influence. During the vegetation period there are 3500  sun hours. The average temperature is 25 degrees Celsius. The average rainfall is from 450 to 650 litres per square meter.; The aim of "Chateau De Val" is to keep its vineyard organic, environmentally friendly without usage of herbicides and insecticides.
