The village had its greatest development in the year of 1956 when its population reached 4000 inhabitants. The first church in the village "St. Prorok Ilia" was built in 1854. About three decades after it was destroyed and in 1896 was completed the present church named again "St. Prorok Ilia". The Albotin rock monastery is situated 8 km west of Gradec.
